How to Check a Niche Perfume Is Authentic When You Buy Online in the UAE

Niche perfumes cost more than designer ones, which makes them a target for copies. Before you pay, run these six checks. They take five minutes and work on any shop, including ours.
1. The seller has a real address you can visit
A genuine perfume shop in the UAE has a trade licence and a physical address. Look for the address, phone number and opening hours on the website, and check them on Google Maps. LeLuxe Perfumes is a boutique in Bani Yas East 3, Abu Dhabi, open every day until midnight.
2. The bottle arrives sealed
New perfume should arrive in its original box, sealed in cellophane, with no dents or glue marks. A box that is already open, or a bottle without a box, is a warning sign unless the shop clearly sells it as a tester. At LeLuxe we sell new bottles sealed, and testers are labelled as testers.
3. The batch code matches
Most perfume houses print a batch code on the bottom of the box and on the bottle. The two codes should be the same. A missing code, a printed sticker instead of an engraved or stamped code, or codes that differ are reasons to ask questions.
4. The price makes sense
A niche perfume sold far below the usual UAE price is rarely a bargain. Compare the price with two or three known shops. If one price is half the others, ask why before you buy.
5. The shop takes returns
A shop that sells authentic perfume will accept a sealed bottle back. Read the returns policy before you order. At LeLuxe, sealed items can be returned within 14 days, and exchanges are accepted.
6. You can test it first
The safest way is to smell the perfume before you buy. Visit the shop, test on skin and wait a few hours to see how it develops. If you order online, you can still message the shop on WhatsApp and ask about the scent, the batch and the packaging.
